If we were anything like the other side Liz Cheney and her father would never show their face in public again, because we would continually scream that Dick was responsible for failing to divert a terrorist attack. We would scream over and over that he should be indicted and prosecuted and that he deserves only the most horrible treatment for failing at his job and allowing us to be attacked. If we were as loud and ridiculous as the right, she would never leave her house again because the entire country would think her father was personally responsible for letting 9/11 happen. If the left was as cutthroat, brutal, and misleading as the right the republican party would no longer exist because we would have branded them as the party that elected George Bush and Dick Cheney, who then let us be attacked on 9/11.

Meanwhile Vermont Congressman Peter Welch said a major factor in the conditions at Walter Reed might be the result of the privatization of services. Welch cited a five-year $120 million contract given to a company called IAP Worldwide Services, which is operated by a former Halliburton executive. The Corporate Research Project is reporting IAP has close ties to the Republican Party. Ownership of the company is controlled by the giant hedge fund Cerberus, whose chair is former Bush Administration Treasury Secretary John Snow. The IAP board of directors includes former Vice President Dan Quayle and retired Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Michael Hagee.
