We all want the government "out of our lives" but we never ask about how we treat each other. Hmmmm.

1. Just had a screaming match with one of those people.
asked for four reasons we should hand congress over to the Rethugs. He couldn't give me one decent, rational reason.
All i wanted was four things the Democratic Congress and Administration has done that he was so opposed to. These
people spout generalities, but they can't discuss details.

3. This is the most accurate observation
about the essence of conservatism.
The idea of doing a certain thing, allowing a certain dynamic, adhering to a policy, or making a sacrifice for the common good is not in their list of possible actions.
Their conduct is determined chiefly by personal self-interest, even where such self-interest does not prove to be enlightened.

4. John Kerry quoting GOP leader's statement at Republican
Pledge meeting, quote : "We are not going to be any different than what we've been." Believe it. The Repubs will cling to what they know best, screwing the public for benefit of corporate benefits.

5. No politician believes in the common good
Or else they wouldn't be working in a system that puts profits ahead of it.
