2. Could Have and Should Have Done a Better Job |
|
I had planned to start a post about this, but since there is already one started I will just post my points here. Ana Marie Cox could have and should have done a better job in dealing with this issue on Olbermann last night. When asked if Romney was trying to reach out to a base by being so harsh to Senator Craig she only said I guess. Actually Romney is definitely trying to reach out to a base and that base is the conservative Republicans. He is trying to show them that he is actually a real conservative. Cox pointed out the differences between the reaction of Romney and Senator Brownback by stating that Brownback seemed to want to give Craig a second chance and that Brownback reaction seemed to be more in line with the Republican idea of giving people a second chance. Once again I contend Cox missed what was going on. Brownback was/is willing to give Craig a second chance because he is a Republican. For Republican if you are a Republican it is okay for you to do bad things. However, if you are a Democrat you have to lose your job for doing bad things. If this had been a Democrat in Craig's position Brownback would have come out screaming for the Democrat to either resign or be kicked out of office. So, I contend Cox really dropped the ball on this one.
