boo f*ing hoo, King. Even as a satiric buffoon, Colbert outclasses you both.

1. Rep. King is the moron who opened the hearing by saying...
... that the food supply is not a national security issue, because the Eskimos have lived for centuries without fresh fruit and vegetables.

3. And you think clowns in Congress help Democrats?
Lofgren must be an idiot.

This country is in trouble. The situation of migrant workers shouldn't be trivialised by having a COMEDIAN waste the time of Congress.

4. You think Colbert is 'trivializing' the plight of migrant workers?
He's drawing more attention to their plight than anyone else in the corporate/complicit media has EVER done - and I'm going back to the days when they damned Cesar Chavez with faint praise. I'll take whatever publicity this 'clown' generates any day of the week!

7. David Corn said so
Edited on Fri Sep-24-10 04:38 PM by Mimosa

Colbert, host of the popular “Comedy Central” television show “The Colbert Report,” testified in character about migrant farm workersbefore the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration.

"In character." *gag*

David Corn said Colbert made a mockery out of the hearing:

10. Comedian does not equal clown
Maybe it would help if you think of him as an editorialist. The fact that he's funny means his editorials reach more people.

5. They are just jealous because our side has the best comedians.
Fox cannot compete with that. Their fancy women are becoming boring. And right-wingers just have no sense of humor. Moliere proved that long ago. No one has made facism funny. Can't be done. Those big boots just aren't funny.

8. "Their was no rational reason for him to be there"... and then he states a rational reason
That was in the first 20 seconds

watching the rest now

BTW- Rush and the local idiot mimic (of Rush) said Colbert is a "faux Conservative" as usual the irony is lost on them

9. After his roasting of GWB, they still invited him to testify.
They deserve to be made total fools of, again.

11. The last point Colbert made about his concern for migrants and illegals is wonderfull.
Edited on Sat Sep-25-10 03:25 PM by herbm
He certainly said it from the heart and he made his point without having to point out that US employers are the main benifitiaries of branding certain human beings as "illegals".

12. As I'm sure Saint Ronnie Reagan would tell you,
entertainers should stay out of politics. They never complained about Reagan being "in character" even when he was completely "in-coherent".
