How was Marx wrong exactly? Everything the guy predicted about global capitalism is coming true. Everywhere you go (Greece, Bangladesh, Nigeria) workers are fighting against the system.

but his idea of a communist society was overly simplistic, kinda like republicans and their "free market" society.

I don't know if you noticed, but it was tried in multiplie countries around the world and failed every time. The only country that still clings to it is Cuba. If you want to give me a spiel about how it wasn't "pure" enough, or it wasn't "real" communism, well, my response is that's the best you get with human beings.

If everyone was interested in the common good and no criminals existed, then they would both work. We don't live in that world.
