From what I am seeing on gossip sites, it seems that she was booed when she appeared to sit for the interview (off camera), but the booers were shushed by stage people and then the quitter's friends overcompensated with applause when the camera went to her.

I have a solution. let's find a small county far from civilization for these American Taliban to have all their own- where Palin, Beck and the tea baggers can have all to themselves to run a toy country. They can secede from the US and run their new country all by themselves. My guess is that it would end up something like the events in the Lord of the Flies, or a failed Disney movie.

Just saw bit on HLN that insists the booing was reaction to scores for Jennifer Grey's performance. Although, she (Jennifer Grey) didn't seem to be aware of that when she was interviewed and the booing was mentioned.
