5. This is why so many of us

were angry during the health care reform debate.

We could see the town hall meetings for what they were. They were an industry construction to give the legislators cover for watering down the bill till it became a gift to the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. This was a major propaganda effort. Many of us could see right through it. But some on DU still argue that we got a wonderful health care reform bill and we should be satisfied and enthusiastic about it.

This HCR debacle is where most of the "enthusiasm gap" comes from. Most of the rest comes from a similar strategy of subterfuge on financial reform. But I'm sure it's just because I want a pony.
