1. Some atheist said he gave his daughter a bible so she would be an atheist too.

4. Some interesting statements made.
My favorite is:

"We know that the United States is a very religious country; it's a nation of believers."

No, it's a nation of claimers, as in, a lot of people who claim to be religious. What needs to be studied is why so many people feel a need to claim religiosity but follow so little of it.

Funny how they did not make the connection that, for some people, the more they know about religion, the less faith they have in it.

I don't want to begrudge anyone's faith. If you've put time and thought into your beliefs, I'm happy that you have them. I hope they make your time here on earth better. If you are a Catholic/Methodist/Buddhist/etc because thats what your parents are, you're simply ignorant.

7. I agree! Instead they made it sound like...
The only reason Atheist & Agnostics know more about religion is they spend their time fighting with religious people! WTF? They always seem to get that "Angry Atheist" meme in there! LOL! How about most Atheist & Agnostics in America are former Christians who have through their study come to the realization that there is nothing "divine" about their former religion.

Plus, those Atheist I know and speak with on a regular basis said once they began to come to this conclusion then they began to read up on science, which had been taboo to them, & that officially finished their quest for a god or gods.

6. Steven, the BU professor couldn't be more wrong.
I'm agnostic. I spend zero amount of my week 'fighting with religious people about religions'. I'm agnostic because I have in the past and continue to explore - doing this has taught me 2 things:

1. I don't know.
2. Ce sera sera.

9. Once I learned Santa Claus wasn't real, I knew that God thing was bogus, too.
All the arguments against Santa Claus worked for God, so I was an atheist as a kid. The fact that most adults around me were CINOs (Catholics in Name Only) supported my conclusion.

It wasn't until I was an adult that I understood how religion was used.
