The social alienation is partly a result of the crazy.
Is the guy really a Maoist? Are there Maoists still around? The last part about how Ron Paul fanatics have one solution for every problem is right on, but it reminds me of the more dogmatic Marxists I've met. Likewise, they have a single solution to every problem: revolutionary overthrow of the government and workers owning the means of production. It gets really obnoxious when they start to argue that minorities can't be racist because all racism is systemic and only committed by those in power. Its yet another way to argue that all problems can be resolved by their one magic solution. It's an argument usually made by white middle-class Marxists college students who don't have that many friends who are actual minorities.

then yes, Paul's personality cult is huge. But not numbers. Paul can barely hold onto his own Congressional seat, much less an entire country.
