Interview with Eva Golinger.

Overwhelmingly re-elected last year, Correa has refused to renew a contract for a U.S. military base and announced in late July of this year that he will pass hydrocarbon reforms which seek to give the government a greater role in their own natural resources.

Two coup attempts in Latin American countries in less than two years. Both Honduras and Ecuador were members of the Bolivarian Alliance, which seeks to limit U.S. control of Latin American countries' affairs.

1. Maybe we don't need to control these countries
maybe it's not the 1950's anymore.

10. What the hell is that meant to even mean ?
What during period of developmentalism when these countries prospered - or do you mean the 1970's when the Chicago school implemented their regime of terror, dissapearances, and torture - more commonly known as freedom, democracy and small government to allow markets to operate freely under neo-liberal structuralism .....

Not to say there was no tyranny during the 50's - its just things heated up considerably after then - lets not forget when Pinochet finally acquiesced - never.

3. It's starting to look like it. The reporter said Correa's
failure to renew a US military base contract has ruffled the feathers of very powerful US interests.

And, why do we have to get this news from a Russian news source? Nobody else seems to be covering it.

4. So is Correa going to be the next Latin American leader to be branded "a crazy dictator?
This script is getting old.

5. It's the third coup attempt in less than ten years.
The U.S. doesn't like democracy in nations where they have interests. True Democrats, like Correa, do not sell out their countries, so that means the U.S. has to abide by civilized rules.

Venezuela, Ecuador and Honduras. We just can't leave those people alone.

I am very glad it failed but I doubt they quit until we get a government that puts an end to these brutal, Cold War criminal policies.

I thought we were moving forward btw? Seems we will never leave that old Cold War mentality behind. It was far too profitable for so many crooks.

6. Don't you love to see your tax dollars at work?
In case any of you don't know it. Ecuador is a really cool place. A great place to visit. I wish we would leave them alone.

7. It's a tragedy really. I just read a report from CNN
which says the U.S. throught Hillary Clinton has made a statement supporting President Correa. Over ten South American nations have also expressed their support and condemned the coup.

What's interesting is that both Honduras and Ecuador had joined several other South American countries to form a union of states, giving all of them more security against interference from outside. They need more time though and like you, I just wish this country would leave them alone, or better, why are we not supporting these emerging Democracies?
