Minneapolis Federation of Teachers president Lynn Nordgren talks about some of her tireless members and the lengths they go to to help their students overcome obstacles and succeed.

1. I don't know how many hundreds of thousands of teachers there are

but I have no doubt many are as this video describes them, tireless in their dedication to their students.
I also know there are many that hate their jobs, their administrators, their students. My own BIL was an
award winning teacher for many years, yet towards the end of his career he told us he had come to HATE
his students. The comment shocked me. To think he had five more years left and he would be teaching
students he hated. I've seen incompetence in the schools my children attended. We all know that teacher
that we pray our kids won't get next year. Those are the teachers that need to go. I don't see how they
can be defended or even tolerated because of the exceptional teacher we have.
