4. I do not understand

Please someone enlighten me. Why is the media ignoring this? Why is the country not in outrage? What can we do to make a difference?

5. Welcome to DU. The media and our politics are owned by BP.

We the People are outraged,but there is almost nothing that we can do about it. If we protest, we get arrested and our protests are not televised. If we Boycott BP as many are, BP just drops the price of their gas by 5 or ten cents a gallon, and poor people flock to their pumps. If you go to the beach to play (and die) in the water, they don't care. If you take a sample of the water to send to a lab for independent testing, they arrest you. They are probably reading this message as I type it, and there is nothing You, I, or any one can do about it because BP owns the whole fucking thing.

BP doesn't care if we die. they only care that the hearse that carries us to our grave fill up at the BP station. BP doesn't care if we eat poisoned sea food. They only care that the shrimpers fill up their boats with BP gas, and keep their mouths shut about the dispersant that are killing everything.

I hope you find your stay here at DU enjoyable. Sorry to be the one to let you in on reality.

I fear those realities and just don't like them one bit. My heart goes out to anyone having to endure this bullshit. But I have to believe, that as a people, we are smarter than that. There will be a way, someday, somehow. Thank you for the welcome.
