US President Barack Obama has exercised the human rights provision in the new Iran sanctions act for the first time. In an executive order on Wednesday, the Obama Administration named eight Iranian officials alleged to have been involved in human rights abuses after the June 2009 elections. However, should the United States take a look in the mirror? Is the United States using a double standard for Iran? Author and activist David Swanson argued; yes, absolutely.
