1. I have posted comments about people saying they are Jews
I doubt most of the people in media are Jewish. And if it was true he would get in trouble for saying that, then everyone would be told he got in trouble to rattle the sabers a bit. :)

So  really looks like something else.

It would be better to say they think they are Jewish, or that they pretend like they are Jewish, they follow money and ideas of control, not Moses's laws.

How many people on Media networks follow the commandments of not bearing false witness?

How many allow the gleaning of the fields, how many even speak about Jewish traditions.

Personally I think many religions get stuck on tradition, but really the media consolidation is not about Jews, even many of Israel's policies are not about Jews.

Jews fought for civil rights, and unions, they discuss many topics and conversations. And that news information seems manufactured, maybe to stoke up fear in Jewish communities, maybe on the other side.

But really weather they think they are Jewish or not is not a relevant topic.

Although I do think there are people that are extreamist that say they are Jews, not Jon Stewart of coarse, but there are those in the extreamist groups from that religion also.

2. So liberal elitist means Jews? I learned something. I've been called that and I'm not jewish.
But seriously: So this guy is complaining that there was bigotry against him for being hispanic rather than jewish? Why is that a problematic statement? There is plenty of bigotry against hispanics in the US. He did point out a specific example of a person making a bigoted statement against him.

3. northeastern liberal elites
which I will deconstruct for you:

"northeastern" = New York
"liberal elites" = Jews

Sanchez is claiming that there is a vast jewish conspiracy to keep people like him down, for example by not promoting them to the anchor spots they deserve, a claim he made from his anchor spot at cnn, but more specifically that Stewart is a bigot, and part of this jewish conspiracy, because his makes fun of Sanchez and other rightwing idiots.

Stewart of course is Jewish. And he makes fun of idiots across the political spectrum, there just happen to be a lot more idiots on the right.

4. Ok, so it is more convoluted then I thought it was.
I apologize, I am not good with subtexts. What I got from this clip was a guy calling out an incident where someone made a remark against him that he perceived as bigoted.

6. Yes he did. but that person was not Jon Stewart. He never really explained ,
Edited on Sat Oct-02-10 08:29 AM by mucifer
from what I could understand, why he considered Stewart a bigot. He seemed offended that Stewart makes fun of people. But, you know he has a comedy show. He never explained why comedy in itself is bigoted. No real examples. He only said that Stewart is Jewish and Jews control the media. Very icky.

But, maybe it's only icky to me because I'm one of those "bigoted Jews".

I wish MSNBC would fire pat buchanan for making similar statements ALL THE TIME. It could be that buchanan gets preferential treatment because he is white. I really don't know.

5. Watching Ricks List once in a while..
He wasn't a right leaning anchor he was defiantly more left center.

He made some dumb comments and it was blown way out of proportion. I have a feeling CNN were looking to get rid of him anyway and used this as a lame excuse to do so.

7. I haven't found him that objectionable in the past...
Edited on Sat Oct-02-10 08:38 AM by Demoiselle
But I really can't agree that CNN's excuse was "lame." When a man who's paid to motormouth in live broadcasts gets himself into the hole he got into...and keeps on digging...
it shows a dreadful lack of judgement. And his comments followed a standard anti-semitic line that underlies a lot of bigotry of all kinds in this country.
The stupidity can easily stretch from the notion that one group selfishly controls all the money to the notion that another group is just plain shiftless and lazy to the notion that another group is driven to sexually molest your children to....oh well...you know what I'm trying to say. It's all grounded in stupidity and ignorance...and that kind of stupid is grounds for firing an anchor, in my opinion...
I'm not Jewish, for what that's worth.

9. Race, the final frontier
I did not know Stewart was Jewish and Sanchez looks to be more white than hispanic to me. When I watch these two people, I don't think of their race, I am listening to what they have to say. I think it is wrong for the news media to fire someone for their comments about religion or ethnicity. As Sanchez was saying, most white folks including people of Jewish descent do not understand what the colorline is about because they only live on one side of it. Too many decisions in this country are based on religion and ethnicity and it is tearing our country apart. Sanchez got fired for exactly the reason he was advocating for. I personally like both men and yes, they both get out of line every once in a while, but I think their messages are more important than their race.

8. Sanchez is a Schmuck
I could not watch that guy on CNN, as instead of just reading the news, he continually tried to make everything about him, always talking about his kids, wife, and stupid book! I know that the money is in becoming a news celebrity nowadays, and he was attempting to increase his 'personalty'. However, I detest this cult of personally, crap. He also is one of the stupidest personalties I have ever seen on TV,. the questions and comments that came from him where so low grade. Glad to see him go.

10. I used to completely despise Rick Sanchez when he was down here in South Florida
For the last few years, I had to come to grips with actually liking the guy. I felt that he was one of the few people that I have seen who would really call some of the people out on their BS, especially during the last election. Too bad for him... that bad judgement gets em every time.
