3. You can choose religion but not your sexual orientation.
Sheesh she couldn't even explain why she opposes gay marriage after the interviewer pointed out that letting gays get married encourages monagamous relationships as Lozano wishes. Religion brainwashes you so so much. I've posted about Karyme Lozano on the LGBT forum.

7. That's sad.
I lost my father to cancer back in April. It strengthened my faith because I made the conscious decision to believe in a universe where my father goes on, as himself, in some fashion. The grief would have been too strong to bear otherwise. No, it's not rational, and I understand that. But I didn't change my set of beliefs, the main part of which is that I have too much to work on my own self without getting involved in disrupting other peoples' lives. It also didn't change my education, or memories of conversations with gay friends. Both of these have firmly convinced me that homosexuality is biological and therefore should not ever serve as a bar to any role in society, or any right in society, or anything short of complete acceptance. I do pick and choose my Bible verses, and I'm not a big fan of either the Old Testament or any of what Paul says about either women or sexuality.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's a shame that this person reacted to her loss - her unhappiness - by trying to place limits on the lives and happiness of others.

One more thing: as well as a Christian, I am an American. And in America, there should be no laws which promote a certain religion. To me, any kind of ban on service in the military or to marriage because of orientation should be viewed as unconstitutional, because the only rationale for those bans is religious. My father was a Democrat and was liberal, and so am I - and I would not dishonor his memory by turning into a repressive Republican.
