...here is Patty Murray's new ad, "Gambling."

I'm not saying this is the toughest attack ad ever. But if part of the standard for a hard hit is that it causes the other side to scream—well, this ad accomplished that. In my in-box from the Washington State Republican Party:

Today, Senator Patty Murray began airing another false ad against Dino Rossi entitled ‘Gambling.’ This latest ad continues on Senator Murray’s desperate trend of grasping at straws to attack Dino Rossi. The Seattle Times has called her ads “dishonest” and “grossly malicious,” and in ‘Gambling’ she takes the same approach.

2. The Seattle Times is dishonest in its reporting on Murray's so-called dishonest ad.
Rossi was asked a rambling question by a reporter about the WTO findings regarding EADS and Boeing.
Both were found to have received illegal subsidies - EADS given considerably more.
He knew what the question was and when asked if he thought that decision/finding should have any impact on the contract bidding he said NO.
He essentially said it didn't matter to him that EADS got so much more in government funding than Boeing - it didn't make any difference - when, obviously, it does.
His own campaign clarified (lied) about what he thought the question referred to.
Murray painted him as not caring that EADS had such and advantage - which he said he didn't.
The Times said Murray was dishonest in her depiction of his answer.
Why don't they just put their Rossi endorsement on the front page now instead playing this game?

3. Of course the Seattle Times is dishonest...
They've come out as "The Republican Paper" in Seattle since they forced the PI to stop publishing. It's been gloating, arrogance, and disdain for the non-wealthy majority from them ever since.
