2. Good stuff...
I'm going to say right now I expected more from Obama and the democrats. I am indeed disappointed, but I will not deny that some accomplishments have been made. With republicans in charge we probably would have got nothing and lost a whole lot more.

And then there is the Tea Party. If you think your vote is unimportant, if you think democrats do not deserve our support, you need to put that aside because the alternative is the tea bagger politicians. I've heard some good folks say, "Oh well, we survived the Bush years..." Yes, maybe you did, but do you want to take the gamble that you won't next time around? I don't. See you at the polls.

3. The problem with this great video is that it is only an independent web ad.

Where is our national party and why aren't THEY running an ad like this ON NATIONAL NETWORK OR CABLE TV?????

Instead they are treating all races as local and triaging up the Wazoo and spending their time trying to figure out which races NOT to fund, like Alan Grayson, and coming out with a new party logo while sending out trial balloons about putting Robert Gibbs in as the new DNC head instead of 50-State-Strategy Howard Dean, the last party head who knew what he was doing.

Why is it that the GOP nationalizes the election but we don't when they are threatening to end Social Security and Medicare and we act like that is no big F*CKING deal. And they are talking about switching to a national sales tax instead of an income tax when the rich earn far more income than they can spend so the tax falls disproportionately on the non-rich -- who just happen to provide the consumer spending without which the economy collapses. There are millions of products sold in the US. With a sales tax that's MILLIONS OF NEW TAXES.

INCLUDING A TEA TAX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But our party is quiet as mice and busy doing nothing to nationalize the election our way.

Contrast this with the Lyndon Johnson ad of 1964. Goldwater had said we should nuke Vietnam and Johnson ran this ad against him and slaughtered him:

LBJ 1964 "DaISY" ad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtYpnGZr6TA&feature=fvst

Who in our NATIONAL party has the guts to run an ad like that?

NOBODY!

In 1992 Clinton political consultant Mandy Grunwald said privately, "This campaign scares the hell out of me because there is no one who sits awake at night thinking how to f*ck the competition."

Now that "f*ck" is Social Security and Medicare, and the national sales tax is a CLUSTER f*ck for the GOP.

But do we nationalize this? Do we paint the entire GOP by showcasing the Tea Partiers as the new face of the GOP? Do we showcase them as the nuts they are in national TV ads?

Never!

We might make Glenn Beck get mad at us!

Consider:

There have been 4 great stock market crashes in this nation:

Panic of 1873.
Crash of 1929.
Crash of 1987.
Crash of 2008.

What do all these crashes have in common?

THEY ALL HAPPENED UNDER REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTS!

ALL FOUR!

But this is none of our business because we must be nice and collegial with the GOP at every turn and NEVER CRITICIZE THEM.

Great web ad.

Why isn't OUR PARTY doing stuff like this and paying for it on national TV?

4. This administration's spokespeople continue to be utter failures at
getting out (and staying on) strong, clear messages, whether pre-emptively, defensively, explanatory or simply to drive home to the American people, every single day, the incredible/agains-all-odds accomplishments of this President. Gibbs, the master of quips, treats everything as a cute little joke waiting to be told. Axelrod's power has has literally disappeared before our very eyes. His absurdly ineffectual comment on a Sunday morning show last week (paraphrased) 'I think the American people will eventually warm up to the Obama healthcare package' made me want to scream at the TV, "NO! NO THEY WON'T! BECAUSE NOBODY IS REALLY CERTAIN WHAT'S IN IT, OTHER THAN THE RELENTLESS LIES FROM THOSE OPPOSED TO IT!

Read this and weep. Who knew?
