Thanks, I enjoyed that. The woman handled herself well. I almost felt sorry for the punk kid who thought he was doing a gotya vid and wound up getting handled like a chew toy. His cheering section at Utube was amusing. From the Twilight Zone - "Attack Of The Right Wing Hippies".

Cathy or Kathy Silver is someone I'm very proud of in our society. That was an inspiring display of civilized discourse.

5. I've never understood why the "free staters" migrated to NH. |
|
Just because we don't have a sales tax or income tax doesn't mean the place is an affordable paradise. Car registration is expensive, permits for things like septic systems are expensive (as are the recommended systems), electricity is expensive and on and on and on. There are all kinds of hidden fees and gotchas to make up for overt taxation.

10. As someone raised in NH I agree |
|
From what I've heard, the only reason the right-wing libertarians chose NH as their haven is because the first members were from New York and Penn, so they chose NH so they wouldn't have to move very far. This was in contrast to the other states they were considering (Wyoming, South Dakota, Idaho, and I think Montana).

11. That's interesting . . I didn't know that. |
|
It's a shame they didn't take their freeloading philosophy to one of the red states.

12. That's also why their project is going to fail |
|
When my family first moved to NH back in 1993 (I was four years old then) it was still no man's land. Now, everywhere in the state that's south of Concord is in essence a giant suburb of Boston. For every one of these right-wing libertarians in NH there's about twice as many "statists" moving there from Boston/Massachusetts, Vermont, and New York. Plus there's many immigrant communities in Nashua and Manchester who need government welfare as a way of compensating for low wages and high rent prices.

Stomping his feet. "I wanna be free. Don't take my money and spend it on public services!" Fucking freeloader! Go live in the woods and eat grubs asshole. We are trying to have a civilization here.

7. There's a win-win solution |
|
If these people are against taxation, why not build participatory institutions that are run by the community for NO PROFIT instead of run by the government or companies. Build schools that are democratically-run and free of charge.

8. Well they should do that... |
|
problem is most Libertarians are Ayn Rand cultists, and they don't believe in community or society; just rugged individualism. So like I said they should go practice that self reliance out in the woods and see how long they last without their fellow man. Who knows they could turn out to be Grizzly Adams.

9. They believe in unrealistic individualism |
|
I'm sick and tired of hearing these Ayn Rand people talk about the cult of the individual. They should stop drinking the kool aid and start looking towards their communities as ways out of statism and the exploitation of capitalism.
