took so long for Pelosi to recognize this, if in fact she did recognized this.
If the Democratic Party would have adopted this stance during the health care debate we wouldn't have the 'enthusiasm gap'.
Even if the Democrats didn't achieve all their HCR objectives, like the public option, at least it would be clear to the voter which party was on their side.
Since the day Obama walked into office there have been powerful forces at work that have served to weaken the Democratic Party's populist position. Nothing better illustrates this than HCR and financial reform. The American people know full well that big insurance, big pharma and Wall Street are not acting in their best interests. The Democratic Party could have owned this election, now I fear it is too late to turn it around.
