2. Well, at least he didn't do it with red neck hicky types.
Which seems to be the targeted demographic with his add.

3. I'm glad to see the NRA endorse a Democrat
but from what I've seen Mr Manchin is a pretty crappy Democrat.

I suppose he's marginally better than the nut he's running against but I'm still disappointed that he seems to be the best they can do.

11. I Knew Manchin was a Conservative...
...I didn't know he was a DINO, and a proud traitor of the Democratic Party.

12. Out of W. VA, we know who they are running against, and
they have to look like a Republican to get elected.

The danger is only if they really ARE a Republican and call themselves Dems.

Can we all spell "blue dog"?

15. Fine by me
You have to live in some of these places before you realize that this is going to be the only thing that works. Democrats need to be a big-tent party to maintain their majorities. Liberals will benefit from being open-minded. Just have to hold your nose and remember that it's not Raese -- thank heavens it's not Raese.

Winning in politics is kind of like walking a tightrope between your ideological supporters and moderate/local issues. No candidate from any party is going to win in WV without being against the cap and trade bill. Yet you can't abandon your principles. Manchin will definitely be with us on economic issues. And Obamacare's not going to be repealed, no matter what he says. The party with the most flexible base in situations like this is the party that wins. If it were California, we can afford to stick to our principles. If it's West Virginia, there's gotta be some give and take.
