They foreign money is going for whatever operating, fund raising, and other operating expenses. This allows the Chamber to free up US dollars and use them in campaigns. Either way, the influx of foreign money helps them influence our elections.

5. The Problem For The Chamber

Is that all of the money goes into the same bank account where the identity gets lost. What happens after that doesn't matter because a percentage of the blended fund is from foreign sources. If it is 5% foreign then all outlays are 5% foreign, including money used to support candidates in American electins. Plus, the Chamber has at least 3 such accounts and they have only spoken about the smallest of these and duped Bob Schieffer to side with the Chamber by calling the amount "peanuts". It is all a smoke screen to hide the extent that foreign money funds Chamber operations. Since the Chamber is supposed to represent American business interests the Chamber has a huge conflict of interests in conducting their core business when Bahrain, a very large financial center holding huge sums of petro dollars, has contributed substantially to the Chamber. Is there any wonder the Chamber has been so heavily against cap and trade legislation? The Chamber is corrupt to the core.
