This is very interesting info for a number of reasons. Knowing that racist teabagging idiots would be less inclined to vote for a Native American, Rossi has been very quiet about his native roots. probably a public acknowledgment of his heritage would garner more Democratic votes than Republican ones in this state. But Democrats would not vote for a man with his record. So, he, a man who never mentioned being native in the governor's race is suddenly courting votes on the res. Too bad, though, he accuses the Indians of laundering money and is on record as opposing Indian casinos. He says he has a Tlingit grandmother now. In the last election he made no mention of her, only of his working class roots, his beautician mother. Now, however, he speaks of being raised by public schoolteachers. Apparently his stepfather (no indication how long he lived with this person) was a teacher. Yet he voted twice to deny teachers cost of living raises while in the state legislature, he believes students should not get loans directly from the government because it denies banks profits, he voted to deny healthcare to poor children in the state, he favors lowering the minimum wage, and is opposed to extension of unemployment benefits.
Is he really surprised that SwiftCanoe Indians have decided to swamp his boat?
:applause:

2. also interesting that rossi is only an indian when stumping for votes |
|
on the reservation but not in any ads seen on the mainstream media. here is an analysis of campaign funding that makes rossi seem like an underdog but then admits that he is receiving much more outside help than murry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5fA-J9nhH0
