If Swamp Rat has any Zombie Reagan files in his archive, I would love to see one RIGHT NOW.

1. I would really love to hear what RR would have really thought of her.
And don't get me started about Nancy's opinion.

4. I see Palin invoking Reagan again and again and again...
...in the same way I see Linda Blair's character in "The Exorcist" pleasuring herself with a crucifix.

I'm not a Ronald Reagan fan...not a fan of his movies OR his presidency...but I think he would have seen Palin as a joke.

As far as Nancy is concerned, Palin would have kissed her ass and told her she was really into astrology and the BJ Queen of Hollywood would have embraced her with open arms.

2. didn't see the vid but I am guessing the Myth of Reagan, not the reality.
The reality that caused his own vice-president to campaign for president with a slogan of "Read my lips - no new taxes!"

5. And Palin really is Myth America, isn't she?
If it doesn't exist, she's willing to raise the flag and salute it.

12. The reality of Reagan is....
Bigger government, out of control spending, huge deficits and debt, more crime and really the start of the health insurance crisis....this is the reality....the perception/myth is something totally different!

28. don't for get that
the Reagan administration encouraged the rise of militant Islam in Afghanistan. 911 is an direct or maybe even direct result of the actions of the Reagan administration.

3. I heard a devotee raving about Reagan today
He was talking about his many visits to the Reagan library and how meaningful they were to him. And most of all, how much he's looking forward to what would have been RR's 100th birthday.

Brace yourselves--it's coming up on February 6. Reagan's span: Feb. 6, 1911 - Jun. 5, 2004.

6. They won't be happy until he ends up on our stamps and currency...
...then we'll have to name streets after him, and bridges, and every other thing that includes the word "memorial."

I think we should just release the monkey movie on a solid gold DVD and call it a day. That's more than a fitting tribute.

16. Ah-HAH!!!
THAT's another one we need: The Reagan Memorial Monkey House!

There WAS an effort going on to get his name on at least one landmark in every state.
I imagine it still is, though I haven't heard much about it in the last couple of years.
I figured we could come up with a few more "appropriate" structures for the Late Great
Communicator's moniker, but until you mentioned that movie, all I could think of
was a waste water treatment plant.

Guess I could have tried harder, huh?

11. I think Reagan would have liked Palin
Reagan and Palin have a lot in common. Those whole stupid idea that wealth will 'trickle down' is just crazy! Why would less government spending cause regular people to spend MORE? Stupid cons...

I say go for it. All our current problems stem from Supply Side Economics.

29. What a great opening that will be to discuss how much the Reagan years sucked!
His administration left this country a wasteland... with worse repercussions to come. And she wants to invoke his name? Let her!!
