I took a walk from the first parking lot in Fort Pickens towards the Ranger Station to the east - The area in the video is a couple hundred yards west of the Ranger Station and as you can see it is absolutely horrible right on the surface and at the end of the video I am showing you that I can kick up the tar and oil with my feet. Incredible that NO ONE GIVES A DAMN...

I will continue to do what I can but as of this week I am going back to work and take care of those closest to me. I have done all I can do to wake people up and the fact that our local government is allowing this bullshit to go on should be enough to have everyone up in arms BUT IT IS NOT...

1. CRIMINALS
BP wants to stop paying any more claims, do anymore clean-up or anything. Funny they think the 75 million they paid to advertise and lie to us all is all they needed to do. And apparently they are right. Drilling moratorium lifted!! how long befgore they are re-attaching a drill to the damn well again?

This is unreal. And no one seems to care at all. I want to retire to Florida! I love the Gulf. Look what they are doing to my future home!!! Damn!!!!

The moratorium being lifted is absolutely without justification, unless you're a corporatist. I want Haley to swim in the muck as an example to everyone else. Every last day is preferable.

They never cleaned a thing. They paid people to go out at see with those "skimmers" who basically went back and forth and in circles just for show. Sounds like something they would do to a third world country (which they and other corporations do all the time) but the US government showed how easy it is to buy their butts and make them STFU!

3. It cannot be cleaned up.
The only solution is to make sure it never happens again.

4. We may have missed the bullet on storms this year.
But that shit is not going away, they just buried it in the sand.

It's the stuff in the water I really worry about.
No one is doing serious testing, eh?

11. MAYBE THEY MADE IT BETTER
That white sand was soo boring! Then, BP added some bright pretty black oil spots that are less boring than that awful white sand as far as one can see. Be happy!

6. We all care
We just don't know what to do. Personally, I refuse to buy BP products. I help spread the word about what is going on at the gulf. We are all so broke so even money isn't the answer. I don't know what to do other than get the word out. But if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.

7. I think anything we can do to keep people seeing this travesty is help!
Edited on Sun Oct-17-10 10:31 PM by Generic Other
I had a few dollars to spare. Not everyone does. Spreading the word and calling BP on their lies is something we can all do!!

Thanks for caring!!

9. I would say we sharpen the pitchforks and torches
Pitchforks to clean the beaches. Torches? I guess we use our imaginations there. I'd like to torch some BP execs toupees!

BP stops cleaning. I'm not surprised.

14. Get on it...
Arrest Bush and Cheney and hand them a mop, each. And no golfing until they clean it up, pay restitution and replace all the dead animals.

That seems strange

22. Just a guess, bc3000, but high tides with a good wind behind them
will push farther up onto the beach than a normal high tide. We had some very high tides here in the Carolinas just two weeks ago. Maybe it's a universal phenomenon.

Or just a good blow pushing surf higher would do it.

Just a fisherman's opinion.
