2. Gay problem
Sounds an awful lot like the Jewish problem Hitler spoke of in the 1930s.
If it sounds and acts like a Nazi.............

10. The only "Gay Problem" we have in the United States today:
Denial of equal rights to the GLBT community.

Anything else being called "the Gay Problem" is homophobic.

While Bush was portrayed IN EDITORIAL CARTOONS as a stupid chimp-faced mangler of the English language, I never once saw anything like that on a BILLBOARD. Nor anything portraying Bush that way which was funded by a "political party" - if one can use that term loosely enough to apply it to the Tea Baggers.

The guy who paid to put that billboard ad up is a racist and a birther, though. Who else portrays Obama as a Muslim (birtherism) and a "gangster" (racism) in public? I'm surprised they didn't plaster the president's image on a bucket of fried chicken for another billboard around the corner from this one.

Nope! No racists in the TeaBirchers!

Not! A! One!

3. Lie du Jour
So the lie often trotted out to defend such lack of good taste is "George Bush was caricaturized in the most vulgar ways." Really? I'd like to see a picture of the many billboards where Bush was caricaturized in vulgar ways. I haven't seen one. Obviously, telling the truth has been lost on these people and unless there is some way to make lying a negative to those who tell it, then politics will continue to be won by the biggest liar and the biggest fools that vote for that liar.

4. The artist himself took it down because he got death threats...
Edited on Mon Oct-18-10 03:07 PM by AlbertCat
... and they think that's a 1st Amendment issue???

Idiots

They can't figure out what's racists about it? Obama as a muslim terrorist? He's not, that's a lie. Obama as a gangster? How is he that? Because he's black? Obama as a Mexican, another lie and illegal immigration is down from the Bush years. Obama as limp-wristed gay? That's VERY strange and he's hardly what I'd call gay friendly. It's not only stupid, it's all about groups that Teabaggers hate because they are "different". I didn't see obama depicted as a middle aged, over weight, beer drinking, bald, uneducated piece of white trailer trash. How about putting that up and see if someone doesn't call it "racist".

And did anyone see Bush depicted as a chimp or a dumbfuck who couldn't speak English on a billboard?

And lastly..... who's voting for Obama at midterms? I thought we were voting for House and Senate members, not Obama. so it's really just about stereotypes... of minorities.

It just oozes stupid....like the Teabaggers.

Maybe they took it down because it actually HURTS the Teabagger movement. Dems should insist it be put back up....with the names of the artist and those who hired him up there as well!

5. AMEN. The artist should stand behind his work if
he thinks it is not racist. Be a man and sack up and put your name on your work if you don't think its all that bad. President Bushwack was dipicted in that man like they pictured Pres Obama! Give us all with A BRAIN a break. Thoses of us that do have a brain know better than to fall for those lies. Stupid idiots!

7. Tea Baggers are Racist Scum
If they're not, they shouldn't go around promoting crap like this. It's offensive and does nothing to further the dialogue.

Got an issue you can stand on, Tea Bag Nation? Because I'm still waiting.

9. I saw the Secret Service dogging our peace group when pickles was in town.
I saw that we had our own personal Sheriff deputy and our signs only said ...stop this illegal war, bring the troops home, etc. I just cant' imagine what they would have done if any of our signs had a caricature of * and bullet holes. Trust me, we would have been taken away. Too sad. It makes me feel like a wimp.

11. Always with the "free speech" canard
Did the authorities demand the removal of the billboard?

No?

Then this is not a free speech issue.

12. If they try to shoe you away it works to use the freedom of speech card.
It's like It's kryptonite they cannot deny you the right that they think they stand for.It worked for me at that TB Party I crashed.I felt like I was in the mist of the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers. They could not take me over as long as I quoted my right and didn't close my eyes.I don't want to go through that again without support.
