What happens when DARE has unintended consequences and a kid narcs on their own parents, ripping a family apart. A fifth grader brought his parents' marijuana cigarettes to school, and reported them, which lead to the arrest of the parents and social services stepping in. Radley Balko, senior editor for Reason Magazine and Reason.com says DARE is giving the wrong impression to kids by comparing pot to drugs like cocaine

3. I have a t-shirt

from waaaaaaay back in like 1994. It's black, with the red dare logo, and the white type beneath says, "I turned in my parents and all I got was this lousy t-shirt." I've hardly worn it over the years because dare went after the guy for copyright infringement and he had to stop making them with their logo and font. I'm going to put it in a big shadow box for my wall some day as a collector's item. This poor kid and these fucking EVIL sons-of-bitches that brainwashed him need to rot. I'm sure the kid will be juuuuuust fine after this little trauma. :sarcasm: Christ on a fucking stick.

When law enforcement destroys families, over something legal in the next state, it makes absolutely no sense.

But there is Big Money in tearing families apart over a plant.
And money beats peace, harmony, family and common sense.

Cops and judges and legislators LOVE $$$$$$$$$$$$ more than anything.

8. D.A.R.E. does not do diddlysquat in preventing drug usage!

Read any study, except those done by police, and the data backs up my statement. It is just another piece of the police industrial complex. It is following the military industrial complex model for growth...FEAR,FEAR,FEAR.

I sure wish they would get off marijuana, and focus on the serious hard drug dealers getting rich, and ruining lives.

Yep, nothing like the arrest of the parents, and getting social services involved to help foster parent/child communication, and bonding.
