It is little mindblowing, to se that 20 year after the cold war ended, and the berin wall finaly got down - not the way pepole feared, but I do rembember clearly how it ended, even tho I was rather young then, Me and my brother was asked to come in to the living room, as we was eating our evening meal.. And we looked as the germans on both side was climbing the wall, and was trying their best to tear down the wall as east german authority more or less was sitting on the sidelines as they was not sure what to do.. Not after Gorbachev had told every eastern european goernment that they would not be helping anyone of them, to squeeze political disagreement anymore (It happened in 1988) and that meant the end of the eastern european empire who Russia have had for more than 40 year...

And now, an american hopefull for Senate really wanted to build up something simiar, to "public" close down the border, for illegals, but a wall like that in Eastern Germany, could also be used to close down anyone who wanted to leave the country. The Berlin wall was build for keeeping east germans inside their own country, not to defent against they who wanted inside East Germany...

20 year ago, just telling that someone wanted to build anything near a berlin wall in US, would have sendt a person to the hospital for mental help... In fact many thing hat have been discovered the last couple of years, was something that most of us, was not able to know 20 year ago....

US are in a lot of Shit, when your senate hopefull even want to have a berlin wall type of border security.. Do many americans even know what happend in Eastern Europe before the wall?.. Do they even know that even today, 20 year after the wall ended, the wounds of 40 year of different life styles are still clearly visible in most parts of Europe?.

If he had been in the Foulda Gap, who was one of the most important military roads into western europe under most of the cold war, he would have understand the whole consept of the cold war far more than he did today.. For some reason I doubt he even was anymore NEAR the Folda Gap, as a tour of that area, under the cold war, mostly would have educated hime somewhat...

Or, he could just be a bonker who is just idiot.... That could also be the case
