1. This was a super-important discussion

As RM was describing the southern strategy in her other segments, I kept wondering, "why doesn't the Democratic Party fully & loudly embrace all of these groups that are being demonized, and present a more hopeful version of the future & society?" MH answers those questions here - it's because those groups would then actually expect representation from the Democratic party, and we can't have that. But boy, what a great selling point it would be.
