Washington (CNN) - Former CIA covert operations officer Valerie Plame, whose identity was revealed during a 2003 scandal regarding intelligence gathering prior to the Iraq war, and her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, are speaking out about what happened in the aftermath of the incident.

In an interview with CNN Anchor Wolf Blitzer in the Situation Room, while promoting their new movie about their ordeal, "Fair Game," Wilson called Vice President Dick Cheney a "traitor" and claimed Cheney "betrayed the national security of our country" for being involved in leaking Plame's covert identity.

He has aged a LOT in the past two years. I met them in December 2008. Valerie Plame in particular
is one of the smartest people I have ever talked to. That Dick Cheney, for a petty personal vendetta,
should neutralize such an asset in our intelligence community--and she was working on limiting nuclear
proliferation in the Middle East and South Asia!!!--does cross the threshold of treason. Wilson was
perfectly correct.

26. It will remain a stain on this country that Cheney and Rove

Gonzales and the rest of the criminal gang that got us into war, destroying a country and its people who never were a threat to us, got away with it.

Good for the Wilsons for reminding people of what they did. It WAS treason. And this administration has aligned themselves with war criminals by refusing to at least investigate them.

We were promised when we were demanding Impeachment, that if we would just 'keep our powder dry', that once we had a Democratic Majority, we could rest assured these criminals would be held accountable. I remember it well.

But we are worse off as far as holding them accountable than we were under Bush. What happened to all the Committees that were looking into restoring the Rule of Law? Sen. Leahy's Committee, and on torture? Rep. Conyers' committee?

At least back then they were hauling a few of them before Congress, but it all seemed to stop as soon as Democrats won.

In letting this criminal cabal that was the GWB White House get off scot free with no accountability is one thing.

The real tragedy has yet to manifest itself. That time will come in the future when America elects a "Conservative Republican" that isn't as thoughtful, contemplative and prudent as GWB was. What if we get some shoot from the hip cowboy in the future that's perfectly fine with playing the nuclear card? Or the fascist police state card?

The lack of prosecutions and accountability of the Bush crime cartel insures that this is a matter of when, not a matter of if.
