3. Don Siegelman was accused of taking money for one of his causes
in exchange for an appointment.

Does anyone seriously think that the money that corporations and the Chamber are spending on anonymous ads have no strings attached?

I don't. That is not he way that corporations do business. They don't spend money unless they know they will get something for their money.

7. Threatening? Not at all
O-Blue, I'm a resident of Portland. Nice to see other Oregonians here on DU.

Although I am against just about everything Sharon Angle stands for I have to agree with one of her statements. Harry Reid does need to "Man Up." Of course, I don't mean that the way she does. In fact, I'm not sure anyone really knows what she meant by that remark.

I think Reid needs to "Man Up" as the majority leader and actually make the GOP really filibuster. He needs to twist arms the way the GOP majority leaders twist arms. Of course, it's probably too late now.

The Democrats have long brought a dull knife to a fight with the GOP who brought tanks. I'm tired of being demoralized by the lack of focus and leadership in which the Democrats specialize. Like the lady at Obama's town hall said "I'm exhausted defending you."

Why the Democrats can't just stand up and list all the things the GOP did to get us into the mess we're in now is beyond me. Just state the facts about how the GOP de-regulated everything and allowed Wall Street to run wild. Just state the fact that the GOP funding and the fortunes of many of the GOP are tied to the military-industrial complex so eternal war is assured. Just state the facts about how the GOP wants to do away with the minimum wage, do away with contraceptives (not just abortion), do away with your privacy in your own home, your e-mail and your phone calls.

Why can't the Democrats just stand up and list the abhorrent goals the GOP will pursue if they regain power? The US is, by and large, a moderate nation. The GOP is not moderate. But we Democrats don't seem to be able to control the message and define the GOP for what they really are.

Yes, I'm angry. We should all be angry. I'm channeling my anger into positive endeavors like voter registration, volunteering to call voters to make sure they vote and don't sit this election out just because they're disappointed.

I'm gay and I'm really pissed that Obama's DOJ has fought to uphold DADT when I know they didn't have to. But I won't sit out this election and risk the possibility that the GOP will regain control of one of the chambers of congress. We cannot let than happen.

I'll end my rant now.
