Making a non story out of something as sensational expose of war crimes and treason. This is an old pug trick.

She is following in the shyte tracks of the wolf. She was warned about 5 times and just kept up with the inane and the insane.

He should have given, or should give, an interview with Kieth or Rachel to get to the bottom of these earth shattering things instead of this crap, an attempt at covering them with the absurd.

Cee en en should stick to runaway brides and lost little blond girls.

sits with you for a few minutes and tries to make you make a fool of yourself.

Puts the whole story of his alleged sexual vulnerabilities in doubt.

He is a pretty cold fish. The woman was trying to fish herself, but caught nothing.

Good for Assange on this one.

Oldest trick in the book. Get a pretty woman to change the subject. Unbelievable.

She was fishing for sound bytes and when he wasn't playing along, she just got stuck. She was obviously following a script and she did not know how to move away from it in real time.

57. Just a little Wurlitzer music for our entertainment
A couple of things:

1. I get the feeling that a lot of people commenting on this are a lot more circumspect or "respectful" in what they're saying -- because now in the back of everyone's mind is the troubling awareness that our government has new power (and therefore willingness) to whisk "enemies" away in the dead of night and torture them. Even if the government doesn't do it to domestic citizens, the fact that the government does it at all is having an intimidating, suppressive effect on the discourse.

2. Check out some of the comments on this Reddit thread. There's a lot of speculation about the possibility the interview was manipulated in several subtle ways.

18. Isn't it true that when someone is asked to be interviewed that there is an
agreement about what the subject is. Clearly, he didn't agree to this subject. Perhaps he would have had it taken place about half way between the releases. It's obvious to an imbecile that the interview should be about the latest release. CNN - acting on behalf of the Barons, Bilderbergers, Tri-Lateral's, CForeignRelations members, the Pentagon, the (previous?) State Dept and Executive Office and all profit driven corporations a service businesses. How many millions in contracts were signed per month?

31. Did anyone notice the lighting in the interview?
Edited on Sat Oct-23-10 03:12 PM by liberation
Assange had the dim "evil" dark red light, the CNN "journalist" was under the "pure" white light. Very subtle, and quite telling.

Also the so-called "journalist" did not seem to understand the difference between "interview" and "interrogation." She kept asking the same question because she wasn't getting the answer that she wanted to hear. Either she was following a script or she was obviously trying to follow a specific narrative to fit their "creative" editing later on. Good on Assange for not playing ball.

It is also amazing how with each leak, the American media rushes to defend the government... Oh, my how things have changed in less than 40 years, we went from the Pentagon Papers, and the US media fighting the government... to the current state in which the media and the government are literally in bed with each other. Disgusting.

This woman had a real shot at one Helluvan interview and SHE BLEW IT! "Stick to the script! Stick to the script! Stick to the script!" In trying to make the interview about Assange personally ("Your personality is overshadowing the organization" and "Charges in Sweden"), she blew a shot at scooping every other media organization on the planet. What an idiot. If she worked for me, her next interview would be with a 1st grade class in Peoria - the whole class, one at a time.

Far too much airtime is given to propganda and smear tactics by the MSM here. She came off looking like an amateur.

Most likely her bosses were whispering in her ear 'ask him about the legal issues'.

But she was unmoved when he mentioned all those deaths. Far more important to airheads like her is the gossip.

There are no journalists left in the this country. Which is why Wikileaks must survive.

The media is totally controlled by the MIC when it comes to telling Americans the truth about War.

52. Was Valerie Plame lying people into a deadly war?
Did she order the torture of untold numbers of people? Did she tell the American people that if they didn't support an invasion of IRaq they would be nuked by that country? And did she and say that Iraq had WMDs?

I know this will come as a shock to you. But the rest of the world overwhelmingly opposed that war and they went ahead anyhow.

Wikoleaks is not an American enterprise. Fortunately because all of our media is censored. They do not have to be concerned about the leaders of countries whose lies they expose as they are neutral.

Do you like your government lying to you? Killing innocent people in their own countries?

Why would you object to the lies being exposed? Seems to me there is no downside to truth.

55. The comparison is flawed
He is not a government official throwing an underling under the bus for political gain. He isn't even an American citizen. As such you can't consider his actions to be a betrayal. He does not consider himself an ally of the American government or the American military. Consider him scum if that is your inclination, but find a better metaphor.
