Tonight's show from Anchorage, Alaska was especially rich in great quotes but my favorite of the night was from the really great interview with Tank Jones. I've made an mp3 of it for your ringtoning pleasure here.

MADDOW: "So Miller's got this guy ... on his payroll who runs a website called HopeForHomosexuals.com. It's all about how you can cure people of being gay."

JONES: "Oh my goodness."

MADDOW: "So, do you think that the way people are conservative up here, that that works with that. Are people really conservative on the social issues..."

JONES: "No. Not here, because we have here three to four gay bars here in this small town of Anchorage... And so we don't really have an anti-gay movement here like they have in other places. Actually, like I said, diversity runs big here..."

MADDOW: "So you think it's going to hurt Joe Miller to be seen as really anti-gay?"

JONES: "Definitely, if that comes out. And, I mean, comes out hard. People are not bringing those issues up.

You can't cure somebody. That's... ooo, that's ridiculous.

First of all, it's not sick, so what's... ah.

I hate to even hear that crap."

And human. What I liked about him was the broad decency of the way he sees people.
