This video is from my favorite gay friend on You Tube! You Tube user name "ProfMTH". He makes some very good points in this video & explains why Obama is taking the correct approach in repealing DADT.

Watch the video to see the case he makes about the Constitutionality of DADT.

ProfMTH makes wonderful videos on religion, politics, law & other topics. If you have never checked out his channel I would suggest you do! Especially if you are interested in the study of Christianity as either a believer, former believer (As ProfMTH is) or non beliver...His videos on the Bible are respectful and very scholarly & sometimes funny! Very interesting stuff!

1. I didn't get that he believes Obama is taking the "correct approach"
He said that the approach was what Obama had favored all along.

He also said that the law is unconstitutional.

2. The decisions of SCOTUS
do not create new rights, they acknowledge that the rights being litigated were always protected by the constitution in the first place. Therefore DADT was unconstitutional from it's inception, it didn't "become" unconstitutional because of Lawrence. While he may acknowledge now that the SCOTUS has acknowledged that protection, he should and could have made that decision by simply reading the constitution and understanding that LGBT people are equal citizens.

3. Republicans call for ‘Don’t Ask DO Tell’
Faced with the eventual repeal of the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy on gays in the military, a group of current and former Republican lawmakers introduced their own proposal on Wednesday whereby gays would be allowed to serve in the military as long as they provide graphic details about their encounters. They call it “Don’t Ask, DO Tell.”

“I want to hear all their sordid tales,” said former Sen. Larry Craig. “I mean, where are they getting together? Are there any positions I’m not aware of? It’s time for gays to come out of the men’s rooms and give some pointers to those of us living in denial. When I think of all those buff military guys doing what comes unnaturally I just uh…. excuse me….. I gotta find a restroom.”
