1. Christie is one of the worst Bushbots I know of.
He's up there with Ed Gillespie and the other one-note liars and purveyors of BushBushBush talking points.

Why even have him on? Every word he says is completely, utterly predictable (Bush is great, war is good, Democrats are wrong, etc., etc.). You might as well ask Bill Kristol!

26. No...everybody did NOT believe Hussein had WMD...not even this Administration...
I am sick and damn tired of hearing that mantra. It's not true. I don't care if Clinton or Edwards or whoever voted for that authorization. They did not do their due diligence to make sure they were voting correctly. Moreover, the Administration lied the Congress. Lest you think the Administration actually believed their rhetoric, look at the video here that shows otherwise...

http://www.thememoryhole.org/war/powell-rice-wmd.wmv

Why does this video not get shown NIGHTLY on the news?

48. To have Powell on tape...
and Rice, contradicting everything that * said about Saddam, seems to escape the public discourse too much to be accidental. Funny, I can remember it every time the news media speaks of Iraq, why can't the media?

Speaking of anthrax and small plane crashes, are you sure Clinton and Edwards did not do their due diligence? Perhaps there were other reasons for their votes.

Welcome to DU! :hi:

2. Well, ya know what? I've sat in the Oval Office too!!!
Big fucking deal....he probably SAT there when he went in with some factotum with access while Bush was gone, and sat in the chair and played with the pens. "Quick!!! Tee hee--take mah PITCHER!!!"

I get the sense that unless you're at the BIG polished table, there's not a lot a'settin going on in that office, except for maybe Cheney, who's probably ASLEEP half the time.

He's probably stood at pole-up-his-ass attention while Monkey rambled on, bouncing off those oval walls, and made fun of him....

populate the Bush administration, I am fairly sure that once this fellow leaves the oval office, the N-word is bounced around a great deal. I've seen it so many times before with conservative types - they need minority representation, but have no real respect for them/us.

7. respect and courtesy prove dysfunctional
i view segments like that one with head-shaking disappointment that the ex-GI is too courteous. in fact, most of these asshole-on-the-right-sensible-person-on-the-left split screen thingies replay the same event but with different players. the asshole from the misadministration talks on on on, and when not holding the floor, interrupts constantly. "my" side, sits there biting one's tongue, being courteous. damn lefty parents for raising their kids correctly, to demonstrate respect for others.

in this particular clip, when that creature accuses the soldier of "filibustering" it all comes clear: it's the familiar strategy of taking one's own crimes and branding the opposition with them.

the oval orifice sitter has one point in its favor, one need not have served in uniform to have served their country. otoh, this particular fellow's service, exclusively in tie and jacket air conditioned battlefields, has not served his country well. to begin, he should shut up and reciprocate the same courtesy and respect the soldier demonstrates.

14. I've done public speaking for a long time
Edited on Wed Sep-05-07 09:46 AM by PianoBlack
and this exhibits some of the best evidence of someone trying to cover their tracks in a speech I've ever seen. If you really watch, how many questions does he really come back at? How much did they actually discuss the valid points that were brought up?

None at all.

Christie spent the time building his credibility and telling his opponent what he thinks doesn't matter. He just kept saying that no one can understand what the president goes through except those who are there when the decisions are made. The only way to debunk a speech like that is to directly attack the wall of bullshit he is hiding behind. But if you do that then you get off topic and time runs out before the debate hits any real issues.

I mean, watch! Christie does not even let John get the chance to finish his point before he jumps all over him. He only says:
"The president is better than you and has to do what he has to do"
"The president is the strongest man in the land and has to deal with a lot of stuff"
"I am a part of the administration and that makes me more knowledgeable than you are"

That's pretty much it. And then when he does he does everything short of call John a moron!. It is disgusting that the current administration has to sink to these lows to keep themselves afloat.

Mr Christie thinks that by grabbing the title of C in C, you automatically know what it is all about. He doesnt look at the fact that Bush went awol in the National Guard, that by his own admission Bush does not read, That he is almost illiterate and cannot put a siple sentence together, that he is a habitual liar and is surrounded by liars and other sinister types who fee him BS on a daily basis.

When the first Bush term began, I started to think of just much trouble we were in. Now, with about 500 days left in the God-awful second tern, Iam realizing just how much trouble we are really in.

what we're constantly seeing from the right? Emotion over facts? My experience with my rightwing family and friends is that they're weak on facts and details, but high on emotion. And this fits well with guys like Bush who are also low on knowledge but adept at appealing to the emotions.
You're correct. Christie is another one of those "aren't you glad Saddam Hussein is gone?" kind of guys who doesn't want to delve in to the how and why of the present situation.

Why is it that every time I see a black pundit on TV, and they are not Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, or Barack Obama, they are shilling for the * WH?

The demographics sure have changed, used to be 97% of black voters hated *; so either there's been a change of heart, or the fastest way to face time on national broadcasts is to be a black Rethug. If the latter, I swear I've seen 2 of the remaining 3% in front of the cameras.

Edited on Wed Sep-05-07 08:30 PM by bjobotts
He says a lot of crap, most of it propaganda and lies and this guy buys into it...BUT Bush dismissed the Iraqi army setting up the insurgency that got thousand of Americans killed in spite of the fact that the Iraqi generals offered America their allegiance in reconstructing Iraq, he manipulated the intelligence to get us into Iraq, He gave the war profiteers contracts to rape and plunder Iraq, This black ass can kiss Bush's ass with all the condescending attitude about he knows exactly how Bush feels by what Bush says to him and then continues his kow-towing praise by calling him a great man when in fact he is the most unpopular and corrupt president in modern history who has cursed America with the worst foreign policy disaster ever, "forcing" soldiers to fight and die policing a civil war he got started and then calling them heroes instead of sacrifices to his blunders...Excuse me but you don't have the right to throw false honors on this President and demean his critics based on your "assumptions" of what you think Bush thinks and feels because you were mesmerized by being in the oval office. God, this guy really thinks he's something special...what does sitting in the oval office have to do with a damn thing much less comparing it to serving in Iraq and surviving? It's worse than blasphemy. I saw the Lincoln Memorial so I know exactly what Lincoln was thinking and feeling...what an elitist ego maniac.

50. Bush's Defenders on TV Are Getting Younger and Younger
Did you notice that the pundits that are being used on tv news to defend the Bush Administration are getting younger and younger? I believe that is because the more experienced people are running away from the Administration. What you have left are the overly ambitious young Republicans who are saying anything to get attention.

57. I didn't think I had gaydar - but I think we have another hypocritical
repuke here. He was disgusting, arrogant and a moron, and that's just for starters.

I can't get over the fact that * actually thinks anyone would ever pay him for a speech - you couldn't pay me enough to GO to one. I don't think his giving speeches career will be very lucrative - he'll be a loser at that just like with everything else he's done in his life.

62. as a gay man....
I find your comment uncalled for!

Because ----- It should have been harsher! lol... seriously, when I listened to him, I thought, "wow, another closeted gay man going against his better interests defending Dim Son"

Someone needs to spend some time researching that oddball - he gave me the heebie jeebies as a brainwashed kind of guy... he had no true answer to the veteran's comments.

67. Well, I did say that was just for starters...
of course he had no answers, he works for the bushit administration, so that part is no surprise. The disrespect he showed for a veteran of Iraq was disgusting, and I think, typical of this administration.

Where they find so many people, who go against their best interests to serve in this administration, is a mystery to me. Not only a closeted gay man, but a black man, as well - the administration doesn't like them all that much, either.

I think a low IQ is probably necessary to be hired - or maybe they do get brainwashed, as you suggest. Or bribed, hell, anything is possible with these guys. I don't know if I'd waste time researching him, there are so many hypocritical repukes who are higher up the ladder, but I am going to send the video to my brother who DOES have gaydar, and see what he has to say.

59. No, Christie - We judge Bush by the results of his decisions
For all his talk, all he said was "I've seen the president, I know. And you don't." He had nothing but assertions, no substance, oh...like FACTS!! John Solz did an awesome job in handling that clown.
