MSNBC The Last Word w/ LAWRENCE O'DONNELL - 29 Oct. 2010: O'Donnell attempts to get tea bag spokespersons to define their groups. None of them define Medicare as a socialistic program when asked.

6. These people are so used to
going on Fox News and getting softball questions, but when a real journalist that knows his stuff go to the meat of the matter, these loser squirm in their seats like the buffoons they are. They're sitting their thinking, "Ole God, help me, we didn't know he was going to be so specific". What a bunch of ass cans.

30. Stale Slogans
These people use stale slogans to try and get through an interview. The female kept saying, "STOP out of controle Spending". Lawrence O'Donnell showed how NON-substantive these people truly are. They are no better than reality show contestants. They are fame-seekers and money-grubbers. If you really care about Government spending, get educated about Government spending. Teabaggers are rehashed Republicans and they just want to spew out talking points.

THANK YOU, Lawrence O'Donnell!

7. They dont know what they believe, obviously
They just lash out at the big words: Socialism, fascism, terrorism, communism....etc, with zero understanding of what they mean. Ask a republican what the difference between, say, communism and fascism and they will try to change the subject.

8. I don't want education run by federal bureaucrats....
...I want it run by state and local bureaucrats instead... :) Hahah

They all rant on the idea that "government is spending too much!", but the reality is I can't think of a single politician that doesn't think that the governments (federal, state and local) need to reduce spending. These people don't really stand for anything specific.

10. Tea Baggers are Good at One Thing
Embarrassing themselves in public. They can't handle challenges to their ideology. Rachel Maddow destroyed a couple of these idiots up in Alaska. They kept insisting they hated Eric Holder because he was a threat to their gun rights. Pressed for specifics, they couldn't cite any examples.

These people are too stupid to breathe.

16. He was the only one with a brain. You can read his views
(he says the Tea Party sold out to the Guns, Gays and God rethugs) here: http://www.denninger.net/ check his Market Ticker it's about much more than just the stock market at the bottom you can see previous "tickers". Also see his surprising stance on gay marriage on his "musings" page.

Make no mistake he is right of center but in today's America he is definitely a moderate.

37. You think that's bad?
I used to work for the VA as a nurse at one time. You'd be surprised at what a hotbed of conservatism Federal Civil Service is. It was all "big government" this and "big government" that. When Clinton was first trying pass health care reform, they were shrieking about how they didn't want the country run by socialized medicine. They didn't seem to realize that they themselves were products of big government. I once mentioned that to them when they were complaining about the hospital not hiring any more nurses due to federal hiring freezes: "It's a good thing. We've got to control BIG GOVERNMENT." I was just wasting my breath. Even when you tell them that they're big government, the Kool-Aid in their brains tells them it's black people driving from the welfare office in their Cadillacs.

28. Medicare?
I don't take anyone's anti-socialist ranting seriously - ever - unless they categorically and completely refuse to use our socialized road system and ONLY drive on private toll roads. And refuse to accept assistance from our socialized police system.

They're hypocrites and liars and not worth debating - just defeating.

34. Well there's always the Government Shutdown.....
course you obviously will know what will happen there. There won't be a USPS after such a shutdown. It'll be dead. No more netflix for you... That'll put a few people out of work. I'm surprised the USPS has lasted this long. Had a judge as one of my teachers of law (just a course we had to take) and maybe 2004-2005 he said USPS will be dead in 10 years. so in 2014 to 2015 will it be dead. I dislike the shutting of Saturday. 2 whole blank days? no. shitty deal. Wed maybe. Not Sat.

Used to get the mail like 9am-10am. Today. gets worse and worse 5:30pm cst 1/2 hour before it really gets dark. Freaking paper comes before the mail. Let me know how in the middle of say winter. No Govt. whoops. Are those roads supposed to be plowed. How many frozen bodies will show up :(

Or if another bridge falls. Hey don't look at the govt... Watch some of those shows of Discovery where everything falls apart eventually.

35. Identity politics are based upon feelings not policy
Edited on Fri Oct-29-10 10:08 PM by soryang
My short label for it is "dumb like me." It's a marketing strategy called propaganda. It's malleable; intolerant movement leaders never espouse a fixed fully articulated position. This is how totalitarian movements develop. They can turn on a dime, because they don't commit to any definitive substantive policy. The movement is really about their own venal advantage, not principles. They appeal to unarticulated "feelings" not "reason."

I was on another site recently on the far left. Ostensibly elaborate marxist positions were being espoused. They were posts that consisted of totalitarian propaganda from the former USSR and made no sense whatever. But the persons espousing these views thought they were the height of political sophistication. The expositions were really only the kind of meaningless verbal diarhea that was allowed where meaningful criticism resulted in torture and death of your entire family and social network. Adherence to such claptrap no matter how obscure or absurd is meant to demonstrate loyalty "to the cause" not thoughtful deliberation, dialogue or principle.

The scary thing is that many of the wealthiest and most powerful families and corporations in America are immersed in the crap demonstrated in this video and the Glenn Beck program, that is where these groups get their financial support.
