1. A study that confirmed what we all probably knew or strongly suspected.
I bet it has even more effect on people's attitudes when it comes to forming an initial impression of the accented speaker's intelligence.

southern - stupid
british - elegant
cockney - lower class/worker
French -arrogant

if you're aware of it, you can self correct.

Of course, I liked star wars, so British could be evil also.
