http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x520730The OP claims that that the entire thing is available. I haven't checked because I don't have 3 hours to dedicate to that at the moment.

4. wasn't the crowd wonderful! I'm so proud to be part of that, not Beck's group |
|
no, I wasn't there, but yes, I'm a part of that. The signs were just wonderful.
I wonder if people at Beck's rallies think their signs are clever and ours are stupid?

5. I have been reading comments from Conservatives (teapartiers) |
|
on a number of sites and, Yes, they think the signs yesterday were stupid... the ones saying that do not have the cognitive skills to recognize satire and good humor... oh well.

3. loved the phrase "it getters" which I've not heard before |
|
Jon's contempt for the press was pretty obvious. I too would like to see all of it to see what pissed him off. Not that we shouldn't all be pissed off.

15. Yeah, you should see that part |
|
Colbert played right along. I believe they both believe the 24/7 fearfest "news" infotainment industry is a big part of what is killing this country. I tend to agree and stay the fuck away from network TeeVee of any sort. I don't do cable either. I pick and choose here on the tubes.

9. Yes, it was entertainment. |
|
It was never about politics. It was about giving people (who are sick of seeing the Tea Party/Beckerheads gathering the national attention) a fun afternoon rally on the mall.

10. Republicans are here to break our spirit. Ain't gonna happen. Win or lose. |
|
Just not going to happen. Tried that in Dec 2000 stealing an election. Didn't happen.
I wish more of the public would watch The Shawshank redemption and understand the meaning of hope. Right now they are playing the part of Red. I'm still on Duphrane's side. Hope is messy, but given patience, hope is the right direction. Health care (I can't call it obama care since much of it was Republican ideas) was the right thing to do to get things moving. Now we can add on to it. And it's a pipe dream of the right to repeal it. Not going to happen. Win or lose we'll always be here.

11. Wonderful. Colbert and Stewart gave us wonderful relief |
|
form the gloom and doom that we face.
I spent the morning with a small group of close friends who are losing or have lost their homes, their jobs, their businesses. These are all people in their 50s and 60s. Stewart and Colbert showed respect for what is going on now, but also showed that life is not just about the money or who is getting what.
Now, back to reality.

14. I just finished watching the whole rally on you tube |
|
It was clunky in some places but what they just said in this video with AP is IT. They got it and the audience got it and I got it, sitting at home in front of my video monitor. It isn't often that these two come out from behind their personas to remind us that they are just such damn good humans. And so are we.
