Group rallies on Capitol steps concerning Gulf oil spill, WAFB CBS 9 Baton Rouge, October 30, 2010:

"Our fishermen can't fish because they don't want to poison anybody," said Beverly Armand of Grand Isle. ...

"I was crippled when the oil hit the beaches and now my lungs are crippled. They found chemicals in my blood stream," Armand added.

1. Nothing to worry about ............. The oil well is plugged
The media has moved on to other things, no need to worry about the people of the gulf.
It will come back, in generations. I have read in some reports that 300 years for the corexit
to be taken of. They are still spraying, oil under the beaches, oil on the bottom of the Gulf.
Oil still in the marshes and still more comes in.

I would not be surprised to see part of the Gulf and land become dead zones.

6. The media?
It seems like everyone has moved on to more exciting news. If I had a dollar for every time i have seen a Rand Paul stomp, or O'Donnell's crazy clips, or some new discouraging poll on DU,I would be a rich me. The truth is that the majority of Americans have moved on but look on the bright side, you guys now have $20b to get your lives back in order.

3. I hate to be the one to say this,

but shouldn't the gulf residents be moved away from the poisonous Gulf? I know perhaps they would rather die in their beloved homes, and they have nowhere to go, but this is insanity. BP owes these people healthcare and new homes, at the very least, they are liable.

5. The long term, widespred damage done by this is going to make Katrina pale by comparison.
The fact that our corporate owned govt appears to be complicit in the coverup is more than just a little troubling.

8. I really believe this is a problem that has no solution. I think they are trying to not panic
people anymore than they are.
