Her & Code Pinks tactics make ALL progressives look unreasonable & out of touch in a way. Code Pink's tactics make it much harder to bring a progressive message to main stream America! And the very sad thing about this is when someone tries to point this out in a reasonable way like I am now I KNOW I will be accused of being a GOP Operative or some BS like that. The is a proper or "sane" way of trying to get your message out besides covering yourself in fake oil & screaming at the top of your lungs at a Congressional hearing! I just wish more Progressives would see the difference in someone disagreeing with their tactics but not the underlying message. I get so FREAKIN MAD when I see G20 protesters doing what they do...I know many come to the g20 protest just to break things & do battle with riot police & what good does that do? I didn't attend but I saw the lead-in hype on TDS and it sure did seem to me that the theme of the event was to mock activists on both sides. I realize that Jon Stewart made a speech at the end claiming otherwise, but everything they'd done prior to that suggested otherwise. I think he was just trying to deflect criticism.

I thought it was billed as the "Million Moderate March". I don't think of TDS as truly liberal - more sort of vaguely moderate, occasionally leaning slightly to either direction (did you see JS kissing Condi Rice's ass last week? Give me Medea Benjamin's approach over that nauseating display any day of the week).

Aside from a notable minority, did that crowd actually stand for anything in particular, besides mocking other people? Reading an email the other day from an activist who lives in DC (I live in CA), the person described a stream of cars headed for the rally plastered with signs containing content-free snarkage. With wars raging and people suffering inestimably, this huge crowd felt the need to turn out to hold signs like "boy are my arms tired" -- seems pretty sad to me. How do these people think real progress was achieved in this country? Rarely did it not involve people marching - with signs. Why would we want to ridicule that?
