11. No we need a reformed press that reports the...
TRUTH regardless of who or what it hurts or helps politically! This nation has become a nation of proudly arrogant ignorant people due to this Right Wing Media Empire...We need an educated public that can trust the media to do their job!

I know, I am dreaming but that is what we need not more closed off echo chambers!

3. She did a great job on that piece. I'd forgotten about many of them.
Problem is, the people who needed to hear it, don't watch MSNBC.

7. OMG that part was freakin hilarious.
Rachel is good at exposing what absolute freakin' delusional crazies these people are - living in their own alternate reality that they just made up themselves.

Unfortunately, some of them are now running the country. :scared:

5. Aside from the fact that she's brilliant.
Her personality comes through as non-threatening and doesn't take herself too seriously. Her body language and facial expressions are her, really her. She's not a puppet or fake. She's one of the very, very best.

Wish we could clone her.

21. How many times have you heard from rightwingers that snopes.com and factcheck are "Liberal"
Kinda Rachel's point - their "facts" can't be debunked from outside their bubble - the debunking is see as liberal lies.

But yeah, Rachel is an amazing reporter, Solid fact based reporting. I wish there were a million like her.

14. It would be funny
but their viewers actually buy into this garbage. This is why we have violence by these extremists. I mean, one of these idiots might try to drive a wooden stake through Rachel's heart some night.

20.  We knew this in the summer of 09
After the election is a little late to educate the public.
Too bad MSNBC isn't on the basic tier of the viewer choices,
that would help their ratings.
They need better programing over the weekend.
That is their job to let the people know they are being lied to.

17. I think the most important words were the last ones.
"How do you talk to them?
And that is important because the end results could depend on it...I am thinking here about the issue of slavery before the civil war...there was deep divide among the Christians who believed in slavery and those that thought it was against Gods law and Christianity....and eventually those sides fought in the civil war.
How do you talk to the man, when he don't want to understand?

27. Feeling vs. Thinking
John Stewart wants me to be civil to a group of people who have no respect for their own intellect. Ms. Maddow's examples are high brow when compared to the letters to the editor in my home town newspaper (Missoula, MT "The Missoulian"). There is a huge difference between thinking and feeling. The right wing machine is all about making people feel, not think.

28. How do you ever talk to those people? Great question.
I worked with a woman, a lawyer, who was convinced Carter was in on the plan to let Iran take Americans hostage. He allegedly knew about it in advance and helped them do it.

When I told her I didn't believe it and told her to prove it, she looked at me as if I was insane. She said: "Everyone knows it. Where have you been?"

She honestly thought that every American knew Carter was behind the plot to hold Americans hostage for 444 days in Iran.

She went on to say how uninformed I was, blah blah, liberal media, blah blah. I got up and left the lunch we were at. She promised to bring me proof. She never did.

I wanted to taunt her by asking her for the proof but I figured she was too far gone.

If all you ever listen to is Fox news and right wing propagandists, you can believe anything. And if you can be made to believe absurdities, you can be made to commit atrocities.

Unfortunately, it appears to be part of human nature. It has been with us for a long time. And for those who think the right has been awful with Obama, all I gotta say is "Bill Clinton".
