2. Setting the Dems up for 2012 loss already and all because... |
|
you know the answer...unfortunately he's right...we have no real Democratic leadership. None of them will stand up and say you're wrong...dead wrong...and we will no longer approve funding for this occupation.
The dems don't need the republicans to do this. They don't have to worry about getting 60 votes and instead of standing around waiting for Bush and the republicans to "see the light" they can end this fiasco by refusing to fund anything except troop withdrawal starting immediately.
Instead of Reid saying we can't get enough votes...60 votes...to withdraw the troops from Iraq... It should be that the republicans can't get enough votes... 100 votes... to continue funding this occupation. The Dems have what Bush wants, Not the other way around. Voters already have lost all respect for the dems in office for not saying no to Bush and they will remember this failure in 2012 when the problems with withdrawal are blamed on them.
The dems claim it's Bush's war but they won't make him deal with ending it and withdrawing the troops. Pelosi claims ending the war is the most important issue and so impeachment is off the table because it would detract from that effort when she should see that impeachment is one way to end the Iraq occupation.
Reid and Pelosi have had the power to stop this "war"-occupation all along through not funding it or impeaching Bush and Cheney(Cheney first)...but they are unwilling to do what is necessary to end it.
They continue to act as if they are the victims telling us what they can't get or can't do...when a true leader would be showing us just what they can do...putting it on the line for American lives and the constitution by just saying no to Bush and not being bullied into submission by the most corrupt, unpopular president in modern history. All they have to do is stop the funding except for withdrawal, and start impeaching Cheney and Bush. Nothing else should be more important to them.
We shouldn't have to wait for the next election.

7. So true! Paul Wellstone would be speaking out... |
|
in a VERY loud voice! He always stood up to the thugs in the WH and never batted an eye when he needed to speak Truth to Power. He just did it because it was the right thing to do. HE is the kind of leader we desperately need right now.

6. I have to agree with that wilkerson guy... |
|
I find it hard to believe that we have Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as the leaders, and Steny Hoyer..Feingold and others, who I can't seem to think of at the moment should be the leaders..
