1. WASTED.

My God, the man is DRUNK. Raises his hand to wave and slaps it against his thigh when he lowers his hand... and then starts walking in the wrong direction. Not to mention his red face, slurred speech, and gaffes. I've been trained to recognize the signs of intoxication for work, and this dude would be sitting in medical if I saw him walking the halls.

2. I've not been as eager as some to say Bush is drinking, but I had the same thought as yours...
when I watched this. Some similar postings of the video on youtube are labeled with the charge that Bush is drunk.

Welcome to DU, iaviate1!

7. The slurred speech....
was particularly noticeable, at least to me--I don't usually listen to Bush speak because it's hell on my blood pressure.

Welcome to DU!

4. Not drunk...medicated.

Any number of meds can make people act as dopey and thick-tongued as he is. They have to medicate him to keep his temper in check.

8. You know what's REALLY amazing
he's oblivious to the fact that he's a freakin' idiot...

He does this crap and just bulls his way on to the next gaff as if nothing ever happened.

It may have something to do with his privileged birth

He was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

Although, in his case now, he was born on third...ran back to 2nd and thinks he hit a double...

Any "normal" person would have died of shame and humiliation a long time ago.

I liked your baseball analogy. I think it must be a shrubble play.

10. This ass always wants to pat someone on the back...
and act like he is the one in charge of everything when in reality he is usually the dumbest one in the room.

11. Oh God...
this is terrible. But what else is new. This reminds me of how much I chastise anyone that ever supported, or continues to support Bush. We really need to rub it in their faces that they screwed up, and they are helping at least this idiot to go on further. Of course we need to do much work to fix everything this dolt has done, but still watching this guy, the so-called leader of the free world, walk around like that, gives me gas.

16. Could be Lyme Disease?
I heard that he had Lyme disease, supposedly cured - which could produce slurred speech, etc.

Perhaps that was a cover for the drinking?

Yech - I thought half the reason we lived in this country was so we didn't have to waste our time on Kremlinological photo analysis and reading political tea leaves just to understand why our government is doing what the hell it's doing.

20. White House transcript altered to "undo" Austrian gaffe
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/09/20070907.html

This isn't the first time the official White House transcript has been used to rewrite history to make Bush or his toadies look good (or at least not as stupid).
