Brian Stiedle, a U.S. Marine captain, went as an observer of a ceasefire to Darfur with only a camera and a pen. What he came back with is now a book and movie, The Devil Came On Horseback, which depicts the reality of what is happening in Darfur. In this video he explains what he saw and what we all must do to let our voices be heard to stop this genocide.

The conflagration of colonial interests, ecological stress, ethnic warfare and manipulation and poverty have caused a huge and violent conflict.

Darfur is Sudan's western province.

The victims of this in Sudan are also environmental refugees well. This is a horror beyond our imagination, and I truly wish it got more attention here.
