3. Dana Lesh has a valid point

If you believe that the higher rate applies to a small business’s entire income once you hit $250,000. The rate applies to the NET income over $250,000. Once you figure out how much money they get to keep after taxes, that is still a boatload of money.
The only way the arguments hold water is if you don’t bother to think through the actual calculations.

What drives me nuts with Democrats and Progressives when they are arguing against these people is that they don’t respond to these deceptions. It’s not like they go home and realize, “I should have said such and such”. They know the script, the republicans have been selling the same thing for years.

A business gets to write off lots of stuff, more than individuals ever do. Creating a business is actually a way of some people avoid taxes- go into business write off your office space and vehicle etc. Your question is excellent though-why don't interviewers ever challenge this?

If I may, I've worked with nurses and doctors >20 yrs and back in the beginning, they were ALL Dems and pro non-profit, competent, and trustworthy. I loved them. It was a privilege to work with them. Then in later 90's, RW CEO's took over. Now more than half are RWers- possibly because they get hired over Dems. On issues like the tax rate, they are ALL just like this stupid lady and just as bullying. I might add, not so competent or trustworthy, either. I've been a miserable island at work since Bush came in and they all started thumping their chests and swaggering at me. The upper mgmt still think the inheritance tax is somehow unfair (because they expect their daddy's fortune). They are hogs in the trough, just like that old book, The Master Game by Robert S DeRopp. If you put an article by a well-known expert siding with the Dem POV in their view, they react with a twisted suspicion of any facts, like somehow I've edited it myself and quickly throw it away before anyone else sees it. There are but a couple smarter young people I've been able to reach/enlighten. So I understand this crazy, low IQ lady completely. It's like back in the 70 in the band biz- country western music paid better and more chance of steady gigs than hard rock, but one would have to get a lobotomy to enjoy doing it. We're the Rockers and the Repugs are the CWers. There. Hope someone reads this.
