About 5 minutes into the video, you can see and hear Shelton and Hunter cuss and talk about the protestors. It is very revealing.

1. Dan Burton seems to have trouble recognizing that he is not a committee chairman anymore
And by the way, whatever happened to those term limits we were supposed to get from the "Contract with America"?

5. That's disruption
Free speech is one thing and disruption is another. They can speak all they want outside of the hearing room.

9. well according to the audio that I heard on the video, he said he
wanted everyone holding a sign removed.......holding a sign in NOT disrupting the hearings....regarding those who spoke out, yes, they were disruptive....but "anyone holding signs"????....I don't think so.

4. This whole government is an embarrassment
Why even bother to listen to Petraeus? We know what he has to say. It's been pre-approved by Bush.

We need to sweep out every last elected representative and replace them with people who actually care about doing things for the people. While we're at it, abolish all corporate, special interest and private donations to any candidate. We need to start over.

Yeah, right.

10. This shows why Dems in Congress gets so little done.
They are altogether too worried about what Repubs will think of them if they don't do what the Repubs want. Clearly you can't have noisy demonstrators in a Congressional hearing room while the hearing is going on. But on the other hand, a Democratic committee leader who is that cozy with the Republicans on the committee can't be trusted. Not after the way that the Republicans in Congress treated Democrats when the Republicans were in charge. We have a bunch of Betrayers of our own to contend with -- the mealy-mouth crowd of Democratic legislators who get themselves re-elected to Congress over and over. It is one thing to be collegial with other senators. It is another to be more concerned about what the senators on the other side of the aisle think of you than what people like the protesters who essentially support your party are suffering. I was disgusted by what I saw in this video. We Democrats have a bunch of spineless fools "representing" us in Congress. I feel so saddened.

11. I didn't read it quite that way.
But I have been saddened by their behavior since almost the beginning.
