Sorry, but I'm liberal leaning Democrat who's more than a bit nervous about Julian Assange. While I believe in his legal right to do what he and his organization are doing, I am at the same time troubled by his egotistical manner and apparent lack of any sort of ethical or moral core -- all of which makes him a public figure ripe for parody.

I'm troubled by our propensity (and when I say "our," I mean liberals and progressives, myself included) for making people into messianic figures. I don't think Assange is a criminal necessarily, but I do get the feeling he's pretty much all about himself and he's enjoying the attention.

The person who said way too many folks here on DU have turned him into a messianic figure nailed it! However, on the flip side I think Assange's days as a free man are winding down. Not sure what to think about that.

I think he's an incredibly cagey figure and I rather doubt that he will be caught. But who knows? Maybe he wants to become a martyr.

I always have fun working with Andrew Thorp, my collaborator on this film, but not nearly as much fun as you might think. I'm usually directing, handling the camera, sound and lights as well dealing with location and casting issues (as well as time constraints.) Comedy is a harsh mistress.
