1. 99 weeks? In Canada we get 33 weeks, no extensions. If you can't find a job in almost 2 years, |
|
apply for welfare. That's what the program is there for.

|
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 02:02 PM by EC
just some assistance if you have kids or food stamps...nothing to help pay the bills..The repubs made sure Clinton got hit with that...he's the one who signed away welfare...so the only safety net left is unemployment..

3. Sen. Brown's big mistake is to project his own compassion on the Republicans. |
|
To Sen. Brown, it seems impossible to think that Republicans would virtually eat their own poor if they could.
But I assure you, Sen. Brown, when you hear the die-hard, top-dog Republicans talk among themselves, they really are heartless, truly heartless. The run-of-the-mill member of a fundamentalist Christian church may be the most wonderful, generous person you ever knew, but talk to some Republican lawyer fund-raiser out there (there are lots of them), get them to talk and boy, the callous cruelty, all justified by a firm belief in Darwinian survival of the fittest. It's nonsense of course, but they believe firmly that we should be "meritocracy" in which, of course, their merit justifies their huge salaries.

4. If Obama gets the deal to extend unemployment |
|
and the middle class tax cuts then he will be guilty of being an ultra right wing conservative here on DU...This is already the case. I feel like I am part of the Republican Party of It's my way or no way? What I do know is my friends who are having to get their kids Christmas from charity groups will be more than thankful for the unemployment extension.
The mods can delete this if it breaks the rules.
