It is hard to watch them, Republicans like this weasel, gloating over what they view as the weakness of the Democratic Party. I used to be able to fight back and even win sometimes, against rightwingers when they attacked Democrats. It's very hard to forgive them for making us look like fools.
To have to say that this creep, Dick Morris, is right is beyond painful. This is how bad it is though. I hoped to see people like Morris crying for the next eight years. But at least for the next two, I doubt he'll have any reason to cry.
And if this president thinks that they will ever see his compromises as anything but weak, then he is hopelessly naive.
Dick Morris Calls Obama Tax Cut Deal “A Surrender”While President Obama called his compromise to extend the Bush tax cuts a “bipartisan agreement,” it was no surprise that Dick Morris took to the Hannity airwaves and called it “a surrender.” Just as predictably, Morris licked his lips over the future implications.
Morris didn’t bother to hide his glee.
To characterize this as a deal is like that famous deal that Emperor Hirohito struck with MacArthur on the battleship Missouri. This is a surrender. This is absolutely Obama caving in. And the Republicans had to extend unemployment benefits anyway because you’re not gonna give a tax cut and at the same time cut off unemployment benefits. But this shows that Obama will blink.
Democrats are supposedly furious and it's not a done deal yet, and I hear Bernie Sanders is going to try to filibuster. That man knows how to fight. I don't care if he loses at this point. It would just be so great to see someone put up a fight for a change. The way we fought for them.
