37. Well Mr. President,
That just about does it for me. You have damaged the Democrat Party and the country as a whole and I now see what a fool I was to believe you actually meant what you said when you were campaigning. Please at least for once be man enough to let the party know as soon as possible that you'll be stepping aside so we can run a REAL progressive in 2012.

was an abstraction.

If you ever loved Obama, this was a tragic performance.

It's up to us to make them real. It's also up to our leaders.
That's it. I'm done.

15. Well, why are we holding ourselves to
the abstract idea of a President, Nation, etc.?

I haven't seen one in nature, yet. I can put a bunch of Presidents in a wheelbarrow, but they are just people with titular heads. I mean, we agree on these things in order to make them appear to be real.

Abstract ideas and ideals are pretty much the name of the whole human game, (unless dogs and squirrels have Dadistic dreams and Hegelian disputes) so it is then about who decides which ones we are held to and how they accomplish the feat of holding us to them. The strategy of convincing convictions is the foundation of the perception of power and control, ultimately.

Take off shoe before putting foot in mouth, Commander.

Dean, Grayson, Kucinich, BERNIE SANDERS, Feingold, - or anyone else who is actually a progressive and not an enabler of republicans the way Obama is.

Obama gave soooo many people hope after 8 horrible years of Bush - only to CRUSH that hope by bending over backwards to make sure Republicans get their way on just about everything. It makes me fucking sick! :puke:

25. Excuses but no listening and no introspection.
Why does Obama listen more to Republicans than his former base of supporters whom he dismisses?

Obama goes on about health care to cover his ass on giving in to the Republicans. What a maroon.

Yes, a “purist position”... How about not giving up at the first “boo!” from ANY Republican. How about standing for something, sometime, just once. That would help me believe. “It’s a big diverse country” so let’s give in right now before any debate!

History is full of excuses for you Obama, but when have you really stood firm and said, “I call your bluff?” Ever?

Stop trying to be liked President Obama, stop making excuses, just admit that you played this one wrong and start taking donations for your Presidential library. Garnering donations seems to be something you are good at.

It sad to see that you sill blame anybody but yourself for the mess YOU have created for yourself. I am starting to think that what you say is all for show and you were NEVER planning on ending the tax cuts for the rich, or the war, or repealing DADT, or....

How far would you like me to bend Sir?

Peace,
Tex Shelters

28. 1 year from now, the Republicans will do the identical thing with Unemployment

what will they be 'negotiating' for then? It will be whatever they want - because he has now telegraphed exactly how he operates. It doesn't matter one iota whether the American public believes in an idea, or if it is the right thing to do - if unemployment benefits will be held hostage, he'll cave on whatever it is.

Go ahead Republicans - start putting together your wish list - because in exactly one year's time, you will be guaranteed to get what you want.

And I have a really hard time listening to him lecture about how he's focusing on "what's good for the American people." How on Earth does he have the gall to lecture his former followers who are guilty (in his view) of expecting him to at least TRY to fulfill one of the most important promises of his campaign?

44. Actually I beg to differ. Allow me explain.
Remember when there were allegations about Obama not really meaning to re-negotiate or drop out of NAFTA and how that was just campaign lip service? Well, I think there was a whole lot of lip service spewing out of his mouth during his campaign.

In short he appears to me to get it just fine. Its just that we have been hoodwinked.

Well, that's what I think anyway...

Peace,
Xicano

42. Shockingly uninformed.
He thinks the hlth care bill didn't hurt everyone who is forced to have private insurance by his allowing insurance companies cart blanche on premiums, deductibles, and "co-insurance" (just another word for co-pay only worse at 30%)? He thinks this bill will not cement the rich, nor give the Republicans all they wanted in the long run? He thinks Limbaugh and all the hugely wealthy NEED more money while the working poor just get ground down to powder some more? He thinks this will create jobs or bring jobs back into this country? Wow.
