This video interview of Daniel Ellsberg on the Dylan Ratigan Show, prior to the current explosive release of Embassy Cables, speaks of the hit by Cuban CIA operatives that was put out on Ellsberg by the U.S. Government - yes, our government directly going after one of its own citizens.

Ellsberg notes that he feels Julian Assange is in real danger, and that Assange would have best been served staying in hiding, fearing he would be taken out under orders coming down from President Obama... and he further calls this belief of his anguishing, after having personally voted for Obama himself. Ellsberg states, "President Obama, who came in promising transparency in government and to end the excessive secrecy has totally violated that pledge. ... That's really not the kind of change I voted for when I voted for him."

Dylan Ratigan pledges to Daniel Ellsberg: 'I give you my word that as a journalist in this country, I will do everything in my power to at least shine the light as to what is going on here.'

8. I highly respect Ellsberg however I think he is wrong not to point out that

many countries want Assange eliminated. I say this not to in any way deflect criticism from the US but only to underline the fact that wikileaks undermine PTB worldwide so the danger Assange faces is greater than what Ellsberg faced. Ellsberg pissed off American PTB, Assange the world.

9. How times have changed

Unlike the pentagon papers which helped end the Vietnam war, the country seems not be affected by the reveals. We are still using Blackwater (Xe), the Iraq war is still going as scheduled, the Afghanistan war time table is probably going to be extended and all these leaks, God forbids may provide the catalyst required to starting a war in Iran.
